This program was designed to promote and encourage families to move to Hodgeman County and build a home, therefore establishing permanent residence here. We believe that our quality of life in Hodgeman County is something to be desired and we would like to share that with people. |
We designed this program in which a couple or family would purchase land in Hodgeman county, build a house to our specifications, and then if approved, the applicants would receive $10,000 of grant money to build in Jetmore, and $5,000 throughout rural Hodgeman County and in the City of Hanston.

How Does it Work
1. Application must be received at Hodgeman County Economic Development, 500 Main, PO Box 121, Jetmore KS 67854
2. Applications received by the 20th of the month will be reviewed on the first Wednesday of the following month.
3. Committee will review application for details.
4. Applicant will be interviewed by committee.
5. Application is presented to governing entity.
6. Governing entity makes final decision.
7. Funds transferred after final inspection of completed home.
Residential Requirements
A) 1100 square feet living area excluding basement
B) Three bedroom
C) Two car attached garage
D) All new construction
E) Set on a poured concrete foundation(i.e. crawl space or basement)
F) Compliance with most recent Uniform Building Codes and National Electric Codes
G) Overhang of 18 inches and minimum of 5-12 pitch roof
H) Any interested person(s) must file an application with the governing committee.
I) Application must include pre-approval letter from your lender or show financial ability.
J) From the date of application, construction shall be completed within 18 months.
K) The committee may require such information from time to time as it deems appropriate, including but not limited to, plans for the house to be constructed.
L) All applicants must be interviewed by the governing committee.
M) Lot selection will be on a first come first serve basis.
N) Construction area must be of adequate size for home. Min. 75 ft by 140 ft.
O) All enforce covenants and easements must be followed for the location.
P) No Mobile or titled homes are eligible for project.
Q) Any cost associated with preparing the lot or accessing utilities or services will be the responsibility of the home builder.
R) Application must be received prior to construction start.
