History of Course
Several years ago, it was decided that a grass greens golf course was needed in Jetmore. John Supancic of Agronomy Solutions of Dodge City designed the course, leaving the natural contour of the land. Volunteer labor and donated machine hire would be used to construct the course. John Zupancic agreed to oversee and train the crews in the various phases of construction, irrigation installation and grow-in.
The Cheyenne Hills Golf Course group was formed with a twelve-person Board of Directors to organize and build the golf course. After raising some local donations, pledged and in-kind commitments, it was decided to start construction on the Practice Range and holes one through four.
On January 18, 2003, a group of volunteers and farmers broke ground. The avid group of volunteers had located the donated equipment and operators needed to begin this worthwhile cause.
Plans are to comoplete the course when the land for holes five through 9 come out of CRP in 2008.
